YOGAWORKS TEACHER TRAINING / ANATOMY WEEKEND
This two-day course is designed for those enrolled in the full 200-Hour Teacher Training Program through Yogaworks, but also may be taken as a stand-alone course. Course is to be held at Yoga on Center, in Healdsburg, CA, Saturday and Sunday, February 4th & 5th, 1-7pm both days.
FUNCTIONAL ANATOMY SERIES
Learn to assess musculoskeletal imbalance in your client and how to guide them toward symmetry in posture and movement. Discover how to facilitate and maintain optimal alignment through refining functional exercises and stretches. We will identify the anatomy of the day's focus area (see Parts 1, 2 and 3 below) and its function, and discuss how to integrate this in Pilates-based movement, Yoga asana, therapeutic massage, and common resistance-based exercises. These are intermediate-level, lecture/lab-based courses, intended for Yoga and/or Pilates instructors, massage therapists, personal trainers, physical therapists, chiropractors, or anyone interested in functional anatomy.
Course Objectives:
- Identify the basic anatomy of the focus area, including origins/insertions/functions of the major muscle groups
- Assess focus area musculoskeletal imbalance
- Utilize specific techniques and employ proper sequencing to help restore musculoskeletal symmetry in posture and movement
